Memories, My DVD Treasures

Within my family and many friends I had the distinction of being known as “Captainchuck-and-camera.jpg Video”! Over the years it seemed I had my eye in the view finder constantly. Initially I used an old box movie camera. Later I used numerous types of video cameras. I loved shooting film and video, knowing, one day I would have reams of pure memories to be enjoyed for many generations. The treasures that I filmed are now part of my DVD library of memories. My interest in shooting film and video started when my boys were babies. They are now men of 50 and 40 years of age.

Years ago I had all of my old movie film transferred to 2 large VHS cassettes. About 2 years ago I bought a new computer and with a ton of help from my friend, we transferred reams of film and video into the computer. The footage was edited and appropriate titles, music and family photos were added to enhance viewing pleasure. Many of the photos that contained wonderful family memories had been boxed away for years. This gave me the opportunity to use them and to enjoy them once again. We then transferred all of these treasures to DVD movies.
Now it is so easy to pop in a DVD, sit back, and enjoy our many hours of diligent work on a big screen TV. It is especially wonderful to see all of those old photos in the DVD movies that bring back so many family memories. I especially love the DVD’s devoted to the memories of my wife of 47 years, who I lost to cancer in 2005. I am so thankful to have so many wonderful memories to pass on to my children, grandchildren and their families in generations to come. It gives me great pleasure to give these DVD’s to them to view and keep these family memories alive.

My advice to everyone is to keep your eye in your view finder. Take lots of pictures and movies. You will be very happy you did. You will be building a treasure chest of memories for years to come.
